WFP Five Rivers Voyage at Canoecopia

Wisconsin River 2017

The World's Largest Paddlesport Expo, Canoecopia, has released the schedule for their 2020 event and we now know when we will be speaking. This will be our first time presenting at the Madison, WI event and there will be 197 other presentations on canoeing and camping. We are lucky to have been assigned to one of the big rooms. In fact, we have been chosen to speak twice, on both Friday and Sunday.

Your first chance to hear Five Rivers Voyage: Rediscovering the Midwest by Canoe will be Friday, March 13, 2020, at 6:30 PM. If that one is standing room only, come back on Sunday at 2:30 PM.

We will tell the story of the 1,176 mile voyage that took us from Michigan's upper peninsula to downtown Chicago in 51 days. Our friends came up with $13,000 for Water For People in support of that voyage back in 2017.

While at the show, we will be able to pick up some replacements for worn out gear prior to the Suwannee River Voyage. One priority will be to get more of the good (read expensive) water bladders that we use to carry our drinking water. I "saved" lots of money on the Missouri River Voyage in 2018 by using cheap plastic jugs with duct tape reinforced corners. Not only did they leak but they were ugly.

As always, Linda and I pay all the expenses associated with our fundraising trips for Water For People. Every cent that you may choose to donate goes to Water For People to help others create healthy places to live, where you can find safe water to drink and toilets that work. Water For People-Everyone Forever!
